i have been have problems with joining the tbb server. most of the time when i try to join, garrys mod crashs as im downloading into the server. and if i do make it in, after a couple seconds, my screen freezes and i have to tab out and close garrys mod. anyone know what is going on here?

In the games list, right-click on Garry's Mod and choose "Set Launch Options..." In there, type the following:
-dxlevel 81
When you start it with this, though, the screen size always defaults to 640x480, so you have to use -w and -h, with your screen's width and height, respectively.
For instance, I use exactly this to start:
-w 1280 -h 720 -sw -dxlevel 81
The -sw part makes it windowed, BTW.

Well, there is a bug, which happens to me, as Noah described. Sometimes I'll lag out for a second, and map elements disappear.
i checked, and yes, i have all hl2 [ep 1 and 2 as well] and cs:s both. and both are installed. i also tryed deleting local content for garrys mod and redownloading. i also still can't get on tbb, but i think its full anyway right now, or a lack of memory. but another thing i noticed is some of the color qualitys and models aren't as good quailty anymore. maybe its just me tho.
